Shaoxing University (SU), approved by the Ministry of Education of China in 1996 is a full-time multidisciplinary university granting bachelor and master’s degrees. It is located in Shaoxing, a historic city widely known for its deep cultural accumulations. Organized within SU are 16 schools, an affiliated hospital and one independent college, offering 63 BA programs in 9 academic disciplines, namely, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, science, engineering, medical science, management and arts. It offers 7 academic masters’ programs and 6 professional masters’ programs, with a total student number of approximately 15,000. The whole faculty totals more than 1600, out of which 1100 are full-time teaching faculty (nearly 500 full and associate professors, nearly 500 doctoral degree holders). Over 300 international students (all of which are degree students) from more than 40 countries are studying in the University.
